Digital Signage
What is Digital Signage? It
is a display system used to present a
dynamic computer generated message to
your audience. It includes full motion
video, graphics, sound, and text.
Ideal locations are corporate offices,
retail stores, malls, hotels,
restaurants, schools, and airports.
The actual display device can be
plasma or LCD displays, or multiple
monitors.
Videotex can help you design the Digital Signage system that is perfect for
your requirements. Once you select it, Videotex can configure and
install it as a complete solution. Whether you display it on a series
of video monitors on a TV distribution system, or 50" plasma display, you'll
make your message stand out from the crowd!
Videotex offers several different Digital Signage systems, depending on the
specific features you want. These systems are listed below, with some
unique points of each individual system. Contact our

From retail stores to amusement parks,
restaurants to museums, and just about
everywhere in between, the rapidly growing digital signage market is causing
a landslide of excitement in the way numerous industries advertise and
communicate. This dynamic multimedia venue is no longer limited to simply
score boards at
sporting arenas. One can now find digital signage in retail stores like Best
Buy and GAP where store promotions and advertisements are transmitted to
myriads of displays throughout their vast chains. Museums now use digital
signage to present relevant, historical video content and to inform visitors
about current exhibits. Digital signage has even made noticeable advances
into the hospital industry for many health care providers now entertain
their waiting patients with pharmaceutical advertisements and updated
information on current wait times. The number of possible applications for
digital signage is virtually endless, and FOCUS is excited to be on the
forefront of this media technology movement with products like our Firefly
line of Digital Media Players.
Our newest addition to the Firefly family, the Firefly Multi-Zone Media
Player,
addresses the growing complex demands of the digital signage market and can
handle nearly any video application with multiple digital elements. What
makes the Firefly MZ so unique is the Multi-Zone functionality that it
offers which allows users to assign different formats of digital content to
play within designated zones on a display screen. The result is the
simultaneous integration of high-resolution graphics with dynamic video and
scrolling text messages. Each unique template can be saved in a play list,
and then transmitted according to the user's schedule of preference.
FOCUS recently expanded the versatility of the Firefly MZ even more with a
new set of software feature updates which should be available for download
in the next few weeks. Included in these new features are the ability to add
animated GIF's within a template graphic zone, use graphics with even higher
resolutions and also rotate independently timed graphics according to a set
schedule. With the latter feature, the user can rotate various logo
sponsorship, for example, throughout different graphic zones which increases
effective promotion. FOCUS has also updated the streaming text capabilities
by adding RSS (Real Simple Syndication)/ XML streaming text support. This
new feature allows the user to click on the drop-down menu and link the
Firefly MZ to some of the more popular internet news feeds, like Yahoo
Sports, using the industry standard RSS/XML format. News companies use this
feature all of the time to present information that is current and
constantly updated. You can grab text from any website, even your own, as
long as it is in the standard RSS/XML format.
