IMPROVED VIDEO QUALITY
The MX-4’s advanced comb filter maintains immaculate video quality (>62dB) for both Y/C (S-Video) and composite video. This is the type of quality found in much more expensive equipment.

INCREASED PROCESSOR POWER
Take advantage of the more powerful processor for instantaneous cuts, smooth T-Bar responsiveness and a very precise joystick. This faster processing allows the MX-4 to keep up with even the most demanding live productions.

EXPANDED BROADCAST FEATURES
INTEGRAL GRAPHICS STORE The MX-4 can import (through an Ethernet connection) JPEG graphics to blend into video productions. Store and recall up to 100 graphics as inputs, backgrounds and video overlays. Graphics can even be used with MX-4’s chromakey input effect for increased flexibility in live production (e.g. key the weatherman over a map of the US). Just like in broadcast TV, logos can be inserted as translucent ‘bugs’ in the corner of the screen.

HOUSE BLACK/SYNC Utilize the flexibility of the MX-4 to provide a way to sync multiple pieces of video equipment together though a standard reference video signal. “House black” is a composite color video signal comprised of a sync, color burst, and black video. It is used to synchronize/genlock different video signals to the same sync and color information. Black burst generators are used in video studios to "lock" the entire facility to a common signal ("house sync" or "house black").

SINGLE/DUAL MONITOR MODES The MX-4 can be optimized to work with either a single preview monitor or a separate preview and program monitors. This allows the producer to scale the MX-4’s production suite from a single monitor for field production to two monitors for a typical broadcast studio set up.

MORE SPECIAL EFFECTS
With over 700 transitions, the MX-4 provides the ultimate in creativity for live video production. Five new shapes and 200 more transition effects have been added to the MX-4. Built-in trick modes have been added such as Video Spotlight to highlight a particular area of the video screen, and Mosaic Masking which is commonly used to hide or mask a sensitive area of the video.
