Apple announced Final Cut Studio 2 which includes Final Cut 6 w/ mixed res timelines and ProRes422, Motion 3, Soundtrack Pro 2, Compressor 3 and a color correction app called Color (formerly the $25,000 Final Touch 2K)!

AJA
AJA announced the IO HD - AJA’s new IO HD is an effortless, transportable plug-in solution to working with HD and SD in Final Cut Pro 6 on a Macbook Pro or Mac Pro computer. With a single FireWire 800 connection, IO HD supports the amazing new Apple ProRes 422 codec natively, in hardware, to bring production-quality HD editing to laptops!

Panasonic
Panasonic announced the AG-HPX500, a 2/3" 3-CCD 16:9 P2 HD Camcorder with CineGammaTM Software and IEEE 1394 Interface that accepts 4 16GB or 4 32GB P2 cards.   Panasonic Finance Solutions is now offering low APR on the easy-operating AG-HPX500 Camera. Choose a 24, 36, 48 or 60-month term – *24 month 2.99 %, 36 month 5.99 %, 48 month 7.49 %, 60 month 8.49 %.

Panasonic also announced the new 16GB P2 cards.  They should be available sometime in May.

Matrox
The new Matrox Axio family of real-time HD and SD editing platforms is designed to give you the highest finishing quality coupled with the most comprehensive real-time feature set at an affordable price point.

Blackmagic Design

The exciting new Multibridge Eclipse model is the first editing solution to include the new high speed 3 Gb/s SDI connection. 3 Gb/s SDI is the latest version of the SDI video standard that allows 4:4:4 RGB and 2K film monitoring with a single BNC type connection. 3 Gb/s SDI runs twice the data rate of normal HD-SDI video, however instantly switches to traditional standard definition and high definition SDI.

Sony
Sony introduced several new products this NAB including the EVI-HD1, a 10x High Definition Color Pan/Tilt/Zoom Camera. Conference rooms and boardrooms everywhere are going HD, and Sony's EVI-HD1 takes the headache out of this transition with the flip of a switch - literally.

Also new for Sony was the DXC-D55WSH, a 3x2/3" CCD Widescreen Camera.  Replacing the venerable DXC-50, the DXC-D55WSH is the next-generation in the DXC-series of cameras, designed for even greater picture quality and operational ease of use. These cameras are offered in two different versions: the DXC-D55 4:3 aspect ratio model and DXC-D55WS 16:9/4:3-switchable aspect ratio model.

Grass Valley

Grass Valley released ProCoder 3 software at NAB; it combines speed and flexibility into a streamlined video conversion tool for professionals. Widely acknowledged as the leading software transcoder, ProCoder 3 features extensive input/output options, advanced filtering, batch processing and an easy-to-use interface.

The Texas Production Roundup is a one-day film/TV expo showcasing the latest in equipment and information for the media production industry. The 2007 Texas Production Roundup complements the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas, as an opportunity for those in the DFW area who cannot attend the "big show" to see the latest production equipment and attend free seminars by Panasonic, Matrox, Adobe, AJA and more. 9-11AM - Panasonic P2 Workflow w/ Barry Green.
Camera expert Barry Green is the author of The HVX Book and The DVX Book, producer of several training DVDs for P2-based products, and a trainer at the HVX Boot Camp training seminars.  Barry will speak on P2 workflows for the HVX200 and the new HPX500.

11:15 - 12PM - Convergent Design - Mike Schell from Convergent will talk about the post workflow enhancements that their converters enable. Eliminate HDV & AVC HD Long-GOP with Convergent's HDV & HDMI to HD-SDI Converters

12-1PM - AJA - John Ladle of HD Sales will speak on the many different post production workflows that AJA cards can handle. From SD, HD and 2K using the KONA and XENA Cards and also the new ProRes422 Codec that Apple and AJA co-developed.

1-2PM - Shared Storage Solutions from Facilis Technology. They will explain the easy to deploy, fast access, direct connect Terrablock Shared storage solution. The Facilis Terrablock uses 4GB Fiber for the fastest connection and is platform independent. Great for mixed FCP & Avid Production houses.

12-2 - Grass Valley - Bob Crites from GVG will talk about the new Edius 4.5 Post Production solution for enhanced HD workflows for Post and Broadcast. 3-5PM - Matrox - Glen Patterson and Paul Afalo from Matrox will show the AXIO Product Line including the Real-Time 10-Bit Uncompressed AXIO HD and the 8-Bit AXIO LE running on Adobe Premiere. Matrox's 3.0 Software will have support for Adobe CS3 and Vista this summer!

3-5PM - Broadcast Pix - Tony Mastantuono will show the Slate turnkey location and studio production switchers. Monitoring, multi-cam switching, and CG all in the same box.
