An affordable solution for video editing, the D800P2 has data throughput fast enough to support multiple streams of DV, HDV, DVCPRO, ProRes 422 or uncompressed 8-bit 1080i HD video. It does all this without the need for an expensive RAID controller card.
The D800P2 is equipped with two high-performance SATA II port multipliers. Each one manages four drives, enabling up to 470 MB/s read and 392 MB/s write data transfer speeds. The D800P2 storage system can be configured as RAID-0 for speed, RAID-1 for redundancy, RAID-10 set for redundancy and speed, or JBOD for archiving data.
With dual SATA interfaces and a Vantec Stealth fan, the D800P2 is built for silent speed. It's perfect for demanding applications where minimal noise is preferred. The simple setup and flexibility of the D800P2 make it great for mixed use environments as well. The platform independent enclosure works with Mac, Windows or Linux computers when a compatible host controller is installed.
